IMMIGRATION NEWS
In immigration news, the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, formerly known as INS) has announced that its filing fees will be increasing dramatically on July 30, 2007. If you, a family member or friend intends to file for immigration benefits, we suggest that you do so immediately so as to avoid the higher immigration fees, which in some instances, will double.

We are also pleased to welcome Jessica Ellison to our team of professionals as a part-time legal assistant. Ms. Ellison graduated in 2006 from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Speech Communication, Public Relations Specialization, and a B.A. in Spanish. She also attended the College of Business at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay in Montevideo, Uruguay for the greater part of 2004. Ms. Ellison is fluent in English and Spanish, has working knowledge of Portuguese and German, and is currently a member of the Marketing Team for the Benton Park Neighborhood Association in St. Louis. She was previously the Account Head for Pyramid Public Relations for 3 years, the Head of Fundraising for the Public Relations Student Society of America for 3 years, and the President of the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish National Honor Society.
RECENT CASES
We continue to successfully defend people injured in car wrecks and on the job, making sure that insurance companies are held responsible and do not take advantage of our clients. In June, we recovered over $37,000.00 for a couple injured in an automobile accident after State Farm denied the claim. In May, we recovered $25,000.00 for a client injured when she was rear-ended by a drunk driver, after American Family did not even offer to pay the injured lady´s medical bills (YES, believe it American Family did not even want to pay our client´s medical bills after their drunk driver rammed into our client at over 40 mph!! THIS is why we have so many lawsuits when insurance does not want to pay, what else can you do?!? No one wants to be responsible any more, and the WORST are the insurance companies). In May we also recovered the policy limits of $25,000.00 for a lady who suffered a permanent facial scar when she was hit by an uninsured driver. May was also the month in which we doubled the initial offer of Vanliner Insurance Company made to our client before hiring us who injured his back while moving furniture. And in April, we recovered over $16,000.00 for a client who also injured his back while working. Finally, we were able to secure over $9,400.00 for a commercial client with an unpaid bill (again, it seems no one wants to be responsible.)
